Help DUBBEL with the first turtle reserve in the Netherlands!

Van 22 September to 6 October 2025 does Stichting Schildpaddenopvang Nederland to the annual digital collection of Stichting DierenLot. That means that every donation up to €100 will be doubled – your contribution is literally worth twice as much!

This year we are recruiting for a very special project: the establishment of the very first official turtle reserve in the Netherlands. Here we want to make large natural ponds suitable for thousands of turtles, with good water circulation, safe warm stays and sufficient planting.

We are currently catching more than 6,000 turtles, and we are receiving more distressing cases almost daily. In the new reserve, these animals can finally live an animal-worthy life free of hunger, stress and cold – and we will never be full again.

Will you help us? With every (small) donation you help build the reserve – and thanks to Stichting DierenLot your contribution counts twice.

On behalf of all 5,000+ turtles in our shelter: thank you!
