Christmas dive 2024: Crew Schildpaddenopvang Harkema

We are going to do something fun this year, right now 15 volunteers from the shelter are going to do a cold Christmas dip in 1 of our new pools to raise more money together with the Dierenlot Christmas Challenge for at least 7 mega large pools and maybe even some extra smaller pools. DierenLot doubles every donation until December 30, 2024!

In the meantime we have received 3 new baths donated by our donors, which we are super happy and grateful for. We use these baths to house our large bite turtles and to make it possible in summer that virtually all turtle groups can go outside. Enjoy in the real sun and enjoy being outside when it is nice and warm!

With the Christmas dive, we also want to symbolically draw attention to all those turtles that are dumped in our nature every year. Because of the cold and variable marine climate, the animals suffer enormously and die as a result. Many little ones make 1 big one and Dierenlot will double your donation! Thank you in advance on behalf of more than 5000 turtles in the shelter

You can donate via the link below: https://www.arkelchristmasstation.nl/.../kerstduik...

*) Only our volunteers can participate in the dive, external people are unfortunately not allowed to participate. This is because we then have to apply for an event permit incl. First aid, security etc. with all the costs involved. We will of course film the fresh dives and share them with you
