Amendments to statutes Stichting Schildpaddenopvang Nederland

Last week, on behalf of the Stichting Schildpaddenopvang Nederland, XXXXXXXX (secretary) and Gerard (chairman and administrator) were at Sekuer Notarissen in Surhuisterveen for the official signing of the new statutes.

The reason for the change was initially that the government asked us to do so in connection with amended legislation. Since the foundation in 2013, this has not been the case. Since the same costs are involved in adjusting one or more sentences, we have chosen to immediately record and clarify certain matters for now and in the future. Furthermore, the primary objective of the foundation has not changed but has been clarified based on insights from recent years.

Because we always put transparency high on our agenda, we are making this clear to all our donors, followers and business relations.

These are the changes.

Article 3 Purpose

  • Paragraph 1 Extensive description of sanctuary tasks. (also invasive)
  • Paragraph 3 Emphasis on NON breeding policy and no trade
  • Paragraph 4 Relocation and requirements clarified.
  • Paragraph 6 Capture only to catch turtles and no other types of reptiles.
  • Paragraph 9 Euthanasia policy established, with safety built in only suffering. (so never because of no space or similar)
  • Paragraphs 10 to 12 Text recommended by the government. In accordance with our policy.
  • Paragraph 13 Allowing research to be carried out on how the animals can best live in, for example, a shelter setting.

If anyone has any questions regarding these changes, we would like to hear from you.
