Announcement Great Open Day!

After a long time of weighing and deciding, we have finally been able to set a new date for the big open day. After 3 years of not having held open days it is time to show everyone what we do in our “shield” and have done:) 

A lot has changed, so much that we cannot even list it all. A lot of blood, sweat and tears have flowed with the construction of the new turtle shelter. Now the only turtle shelter that still offers room for all found turtles in the Netherlands. 

We would like to invite you on Saturday 20 August 2022 between 10:00 - 18:00. 

We give you the advice if you live nearby to come by bike or on foot. If you live further away, you can also reach us by public transport. Line 13 passes by the shelter. By car you are of course also welcome, please take the instructions of the traffic controllers carefully. You may need to park at a distance. We do not want to cause any nuisance to our neighbors and the traffic passing through. In addition, we have agreed with the municipality to keep sufficient space for emergency services. 

The busiest period is: between 13:00 - 15:00 hours. 

What is there to do?

The most important thing is of course, inside and outside turtles watching! We have more than 2000 of them in the shelter! In addition, we give a look behind the scenes, what is involved in the sanctuary and care of the turtles. For the children there is a bouncy cushion and other fun activities. In addition, there are various nice things for sale for the benefit of the shelter. In addition, there are people walking around who can answer questions. When it is very busy, you will receive a card to have content contact at a later time. 

Entry?

To cover all costs and to support the shelter financially, we charge an entrance fee of € 2.- per person. Children up to 4 years old are free.
